What Happens when We Meet on the Other Side?

No one talks about the Millennial Kingdom.  No pastor.  No preacher.  No street corner evangelist.

But the Millennial Kingdom changed my life.

And it will change yours.

It started with a knock on my door and two soldiers telling me my husband had been killed by an IED in Baghdad, Iraq.  It was the worst day of my life.  My husband came back in three urns, six months apart, because the blast was so horrific Doug's bits and pieces were scattered all over the streets of Baghdad.   His face, his smile, his arms, his back.  Gone.

In the moment Doug's body shattered, my life shattered.  I was in Germany at the time, with a 16 month old son.  Within 10 days I had to leave my home, my friends, my life, and get on a plane to nowhere.  That was the second worst day of my life.

I felt like my life was over.  I asked pastors.  I asked preachers.  I read passages from street corner evangelists.  I didn't want my life with my husband to be over?  What about our life?  What about our love?  Would I get that back?

The overwhelming, devastating answer I received from every pastor and preacher was, "No.  Move on.  Live your life without him."

My life with my husband was gone.

Like my husband's smile.

That left me empty, broken, and shattered.  But in my gut, I knew something wasn't right.  And I knew there was only one place to go - to my knees.  Daddy God had the answers.  And if I listened, I knew He would tell me what I wanted to know.

What was heaven?

So in the darkest days of my life, I was on the highest mountain top with God.  I poured over scripture and God poured into me. It didn't come overnight.  In fact, it took me years to get to where I am now, but day after day, year after year, God gave me bread crumbs and eventually those bread crumbs turned into diamonds, and those diamonds turned into streets of gold.

Life is not over when we die.  I want you to read that again, and again, until it sinks into your heart and soul and cleanses you like a pure mountain stream.  This is a truth God wants you to know.  Life is not over when you die.  How could it be?  Jesus is the life (John 14:6).   And if we have Jesus, we have life.  Let me start at the very first bread crumb God gave me.  It is a verse that has become a diamond.  I want you to pick it up and examine it with all its beautiful facets.

"And after you suffer for a short time, God, who gives all grace, will make everything right. He will make you strong and support you and keep you from falling. He called you to share in his glory in Christ, a glory that will continue forever." 1 Peter 5:10 NCV

God. Will. Make. Everything. Right.

God will make everything right.  Isn't that the heart of God?  What has happened in your life?  What is it that God will make right?  We have all been there.  We have all had tragedy enter our space.  Miscarriages.  Abortions.  Death.  Disease.  Handicaps.  Dementia.  Pain. Suffering.  Tragedy.

God will make it right.  That is His promise.

When my husband was first killed, I imagined myself running to the father, climbing into His lap, and crying my eyeballs out.  And in my mind, God didn't push me away and say, "Move on."  He said, "I will make it right.  Trust me now. Trust me here. Trust me in this moment.  I will make it right!"

Now that gave me hope.  I dug deeper.  I kept getting scriptures leading me to the Millennial Reign of Christ.  It is clear in scripture that God carves out a one-thousand year period BEFORE eternity starts.  This messes with most people's head.  That is why they brush it under the rug, discount it, and refuse to mention it at all.  But it is there - it is real - and it is discussed in Revelation Chapter 20.  Christ reigns on earth for 1,000 years BEFORE eternity begins.  During this time, Satan is chained.  This is so confusing to scholars that many say we are in this 1,000 year reign right now.  But that is impossible.  Scripture indicates the Millennium will be a season of peace.  It will be a season of Eden-like conditions.  Listen.

"And the wolf will dwell with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little boy will lead them."  Isaiah 11:6  NASB

Scripture is clear, this peaceful state happens at Jesus' second coming.  And when Jesus returns, we are right there with Him, following Him on white horses.  Just like He involves us now in His plans, He will also involve us when He reclaims the earth (Revelation 19:11-21).  Once we return with Him, we rule with Him for 1,000 years (Revelation 19-20).  Now, before this 1,000 years starts, Jesus will do a little threshing (Revelation 14:14-20).  He will slay the wicked armies that have come against Israel (Zechariah 14:12), and then He will separate the sheep from the goats (Matthew 25:31-46).  So, when Jesus establishes His kingdom on earth, only believers are present.  But here is the important thing to realize - WE are present.  We live on earth for 1,000 years BEFORE eternity starts.  Why?   Why would God do this?  What is the purpose?

"And after you suffer for a short time, God, who gives all grace, will make everything right. He will make you strong and support you and keep you from falling. He called you to share in his glory in Christ, a glory that will continue forever." 1 Peter 5:10 NCV

God. Will. Make. Everything. Right.

The purpose is to make everything right.   You see, we messed Eden up, but God has not given up on His vision, a land where He can walk and talk with us, and we can walk and talk to Him.  A life of peace and happiness.  A life where kids can grow up in peace and safety.  Eden.  That is where we are going.  That is the Millennial Reign.  When Jesus returns, we will be walking in to Eden, the garden of the Lord (Joel 2:3, Isaiah 51:3).

My faithful followers of Christ, my sweet friends that I have not yet met, we get to LIVE the LIFE God intended for us to LIVE.  Do you see it?  WE HAVE ONE THOUSAND YEARS!

That miscarriage.  Do you think God has forgotten about those kids?

No.

They will be there.  And God will give them right back.  They will have a chance to live and grow in the Millennial Reign of Christ.

And you will get to raise them.

That is the heart of God.  That is the way of God.

That IED in Baghdad? Did that take my husband away?

No.  Not really.  God has him.  God has him.  God has him.

And our life has only just begun.  It has just been delayed a little bit.

Now I want you to read another scripture.  This time, with the Millennial Reign at the foremost of your thoughts, I hope it will mean a little more than it did before . . .

"For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it."  Matthew 16:25

Your life isn't over when you die - it has only just begun!

One of the longer scriptures about the Millennium is found in Isaiah 65 . . .

"For behold I create a new heavens and a new earth . . . they will build houses and inhabit them; they will also plant vineyards and eat their fruit.  They will not build and another inhabit, they will not plant and another eat; for as the lifetime of a tree so will be the days of My people, and My chosen ones will wear out the work of their hands.  They will not labor in vain, or bear children for calamity . . . "Isaiah 65: 17, 21

Doesn't this sound like something you have always wanted? You will be building houses, planting vineyards, and living in perfect peace.  There are also children being born, and children growing up.  According to Revelation, the old order - the former things - does not pass away until AFTER the Millennium (Revelation 21:4).  As in, we have 1,000 year of the order we know and love - this order - this life - before eternity begins.  Again, why would God carve out this time?

For you.

For me.

To take the pain away.

To see those kids grow up that did not have a chance.

And LIVE their LIFE.

There is so much more to say about the Millennial Reign and if you want to dig deeper please get my Revelation in Black and White Study.  It will change your life. If you want to understand the bread crumbs that led me to my conclusions, my journey, and my testimony, pick up my Revelations: A Survivor's Story of Faith, Hope, and the Coming Kingdom.

What has happened in your life? What will God make right for you?  I sure know what He will make right for me.

The Millennium is coming.  Jesus is coming.  And that is something to get excited about!

Hallelujah!
